We had 2 Japanese spitzes.
The male one, my first dog ever,
passed away 2 years ago at the age of 15,
and the female one,
a rescue dog who started living with us
when she was 3 years old,
passed away last September at the age of 16.
2年前までアイルランド生まれの
日本スピッツを2匹飼っていた。
オスの方は私にとって初めての犬で、
2年前に15歳で虹の橋を渡り、
もう1匹は保護犬出身のメスで
去年の9月に16歳で虹の橋を渡った。
I was heartbroken for a while.
But the life without a dog felt so empty
so I started browsing dog rescue centre websites,
looking for a Japanese spitz.
But it's a rare breed, so it was an impossible task.
しばらくの間は悲しみに暮れていたが、
犬のいない生活は本当に空虚で、
そのうち保護センターのサイトを色々見て
日本スピッツがいないか
チェックするようになった。
でも日本スピッツは珍しい犬種なので
保護センターにはいなかった。
I gave up the idea of finding a spitz rescue,
and decided to look at other dogs.
次に犬を飼うときは保護センターから
引き取ると決めていたので、
日本スピッツを諦め、
別の犬種を色々と検索し始めた。
My husband and I visited
The Dublin Society for Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA),
just to see what kind of dogs they have.
We deliberately made sure that
we wouldn't made any commitment
as this is only the first rescue centre to visit.
However, we went back there the following day
and came home with a miniature poodle!
ウェブサイトを見るより実際に行ってみようと、
まず手始めにダブリン動物愛護協会 (DSPCA)を
訪れることにした。
最初に行く保護センターだし、
もっと色々見たいので
心を惑わされずに客観的に
犬たちを見ようと決心してセンターを訪ねた。
しかしながら、その翌日にそのセンターに再び戻り
黒いミニチュアプードルを連れて帰ってきてしまった！！
