We went to Royan on our first Sunday
in Charente-Maritime.
This is our third time to come to
this region, but surprisingly,
we had never been to Royan.
シャラント＝マリティーム県での
最初の日曜日はロワイヤンに行った。
この地域に来るのは今回が3度目だが、
ロワイヤンに行くのは
今回が初めてである。
We loved it!
A big city with beautiful scenery.
Nice and stylish shops,
and lively food markets.
とっても気に入った。
大きな街だが
きれいな浜辺がある。
そしておしゃれな店と
活気あるフードマーケットが
共存している。
We could see Cordouan Lighthouse,
one of France's UNESCO
World Heritage Sites.
浜辺からはユネスコ世界遺産の1つ
コルドゥアン灯台が見えた。
The shop selling Japanese manga comics
had a good display--
showing mangas with sports themes
to celebrate the Paris Olympics.
日本の漫画のフランス語版を
売っている店の
ディスプレイが印象的だ。
オリンピックを記念して、
スポーツをテーマにしたものを
集めている。
We walked a bit in the food market,
but it was too crowded
so left there soon.
フードマーケットにも行ってみたが、
あまりにも混雑しているので
すぐに後にした。
Then we spotted a shop
selling men's clothes.
As my husband needed
a pair of shorts,
I bought him a pair.
(All his shorts were so
baggy and long and unstylish,
so I'd kept telling him to
update them to more stylish ones.)
ショッピングストリートを
散策していたら
短パンを売っている
紳士服の店があった。
夫の短パンは全部
ブカブカで丈が長い、
すごく古臭いものばかりなので、
私は随分前からもっと
オシャレなものを履いて欲しいと
言い続けていた。
これはいいチャンスだと思い、
中に入ってオシャレなものを
買ってあげた。
Then we had lunch at
Le Régent Royan.
それからLe Régent Royan
というレストランで昼食を食べた。
On our way home,
we went to see Coubre Lighthouse.
帰宅途中にクーブル灯台を
見に行った。
The Lighthouse is impressive,
but I was even more impressed by
the big beautiful dune.
灯台も見事だったが、
もっと感動したのは、
大きくてきれいな
砂丘のような浜辺だった。
I'd like to go back there again.

早速おニューの短パンを
履いて浜辺を散策。
