The 2024 Holiday in Charente-Maritime, France 12

 

We went over to Île de Ré.

この日はレ島を観光した。

This is for the 5th time for the humans.

人間にとっては5度目の訪問である。

The first time here, 

and the second time here,

in 2019.

As the weather wasn't particularly nice,

and this is our 5th time

(first time for Benji, though),

we had a more relaxing attitude.

お天気は今ひとつだし、

今回で5度目なので

（ベンジーにとっては初めてだが）、

のんびりと観光した。

My husband picked up a hitchhiker

on our way to the old lighthouse.

He speaks English very well,

and was a chatty young man.

古い灯台に行く途中で

ヒッチハイクをする男性を

拾ってあげた。

英語が上手なおしゃべりな

男性であった。


My husband bought a pair 

of shorts in a shop near the lighthouse!

(He had refused to update his shorts

for a long time, and

acquired 2 pairs in 3 days!).

夫は古い灯台の近くの

洋品店で短パンを購入した！

今までずっと拒否していたのに

この3日で2本も買ったのだ。

He must've tasted the joy of

being stylish😃

おしゃれに目覚めたのか？

I also bought a pair of 

long trousers,

using my very limited French skill😅

The language trial was a failure,

but the shopping was successful.

同じ店で私も冬用のパンツを購入。

拙いフランス語を駆使して😅

買い物には大満足だが、

自分のフランス語の出来には大不満😭

Another thing we wanted to do is,

buying the local salt from

an unmanned stand.

We did this 2 years ago & 5 years ago.

レ島でやりたかったことの1つが、

無人のスタンドで塩を買うことであった。

2年前も5年前もやった。

Just before we left the island,

we found a dog friendly beach

and let Benji play there.

島を離れる前に、

犬も入れるビーチを探し、

ベンジーを遊ばせた。

The weather was so different from

our previous experiences,

but we had a good time.

以前に来た時とは異なり

お天気が今ひとつだったが、

それなりに楽しめた。
