The 2026 Holiday in Spain & Portugal 14

 

Today was a local cycling day.

First we cycled to the nearest vet

from our accommodation

as Benji needs an injection

before going back to Ireland.

この日は地元を自転車で

走り回ることにした。

まず、宿から近い獣医に行った。

ベンジーはアイルランドに戻る前に

注射が必要なのだ。

After making an appointment for Benji,

we decided to continue to cycle

and cross the Luís Filipe bridge

over the river Cávado.

獣医で予約を入れた後、

自転車でカヴァド川にかかる

Luís Filipe橋を渡り

そのまま南に走り続けることにした。

橋の下にある小さな河岸。

We were looking for a restaurant

which serves grilled fish,

and found one.

With a very nice strong smell of 

grilled fish and

a long long queue!!

We decided to cycle back

to the centre of Esposende.

魚のグリルが食べられる店を

探して自転車で走った。

そしてグリルされた魚のいい匂いの

するレストランを発見したが

ものすごい行列ができていた。

諦めてエスポゼンデの

中心地に戻ることにした。

We had lunch at a restaurant in the main square

called “Largo Rodrigues Sampaio”.

広場にある「Largo Rodrigues Sampaio」

という店で昼食を取った。

A cake made from shredded eggs

called “Encharcada”—

one of the local specialities.

卵を糸状にしたもので

作られた甘いケーキ「Encharcada」。

ポルトガルの名物だそうだ。

For dinner, we tried "bacalhau'

bought at the local supermarket.

I wanted to try the typical Portuguese

"dried cod"

夕食にはスーパーで買った

冷凍食品の「バカラオ」料理に挑戦。

ポルトガル滞在中に

1度は「塩鱈」を食べてみたかったのだ。

It was surprisingly tasty.

意外に美味しかった。
